Telangana Sports Associations Demand Release of Pending Funds from Sports Minister

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, representatives from all the State Sports Associations in Telangana gathered in Hyderabad to submit a formal representation seeking the immediate release of long-pending funds. The delegation presented their memorandum to the Telangana Sports Minister and senior sports officials, urging the state government to release the financial resources in accordance with Government Order (GO) and Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATG) norms.

The initiative was led by several senior sports administrators and association presidents who highlighted the urgent need for financial support to sustain sports development and administration across the state. Among the prominent leaders present was Janga Raghava Reddy, who serves as the Chairman of the Oilfed Corporation and the President of the Telangana Kho Kho Association.

Joining him was Mal Reddy, the Chairman of the Telangana Road Development Corporation and the President of the Telangana Handball Association. Additionally, Mettu Sai Kumar, who holds the positions of Chairman of the Telangana Fisheries Corporation and Chairman of the Telangana Judo Association, participated in submitting the joint representation.

The memorandum was formally handed over to Telangana Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari Garu. The delegation also submitted the representation to AP Jithender Reddy Garu, who serves as the Sports Advisor to the State Government, in an effort to expedite the release of the pending funds.

Furthermore, the sports administrators met with top officials of the Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATG). They presented the copy of their demands to Shiva Sena Reddy Garu, the Chairman of SATG, and Soni Bala Devi, the VD & MD of SATG.

According to the representatives, the delay in releasing these funds has impacted the administration of sports in the state. They emphasized that the immediate disbursement of the pending finances, strictly following the established GO and SATG guidelines, is essential for the smooth functioning of the state's sports bodies and the overall development of athletics in Telangana.
