BJP Backs MEA Decision Denying Permission for CM Revanth Reddy's US Visit

The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has backed the Central government's decision to deny permission for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's proposed visit to the United States, demanding that he explain the reasons behind a planned meeting with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Speaking in Hyderabad, BJP State president Ramchander Rao described the Ministry of External Affairs' decision to withhold clearance for the Chief Minister's US trip as appropriate. Rao alleged that the tour had been organised to meet representatives of anti-India forces and individuals whom he described as ideological mentors to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
In a statement, Rao raised questions over the transparency of the Chief Minister's travel plans. He asked why the proposed meeting with Zohran Mamdani was omitted from the official schedule despite being part of the proposed itinerary submitted for the visit.
Rao also referenced previous overseas engagements by the Chief Minister, stating that during a visit to the United Kingdom, Revanth Reddy had shared a stage at Oxford University with Maya Tudor and Faisal Devji, whom Rao accused of writing anti-India articles.
Questioning the purpose of these interactions on social media platform X, the State BJP president demanded answers regarding why the Chief Minister was seeking meetings with such figures abroad.
