Chandanagar SI and Constable Caught by ACB for Alleged Rs 75,000 Bribe

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials in Hyderabad caught a Chandanagar police Sub-Inspector and a constable red-handed on Saturday while they were allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 75,000 in connection with a criminal case.
The accused police personnel have been identified as Sub-Inspector B Balraj and Constable B Raghavendra Kumar, both attached to the Chandanagar police station.
According to ACB officials, the duo had allegedly demanded money from a complainant to conduct an investigation and file a chargesheet in a pending criminal case.
During the probe, the ACB found that the accused had already accepted partial payments earlier. Sub-Inspector Balraj had allegedly received Rs 20,000 in cash, while Constable Raghavendra Kumar had taken Rs 10,000 through Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
With the initial transactions and the subsequent Rs 75,000 sum, the total bribe amount demanded and received in the matter reached Rs 1.05 lakh.
ACB officials stated that further investigation into the case is currently underway.
