Revanth Reddy Visits Medaram, Launches Water Plant and Welfare Pensions

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy visited Medaram in Mulugu district on Sunday, where he offered special prayers to Goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma and launched a series of welfare and infrastructure initiatives.

Arriving by special helicopter from Bichkunda, Revanth Reddy was welcomed by tribal priests with traditional drum beats at the sacred gaddes. As part of the customary rituals, the Chief Minister offered jaggery equivalent to his height, praying for the welfare, prosperity, and good health of the people of Telangana. He also inspected ongoing development works at the shrine and planted a sapling on the temple premises.

During the visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated a new water treatment plant designed to supply clean drinking water to devotees visiting Medaram. He also launched the distribution of new social security pensions under the rural development programme, handing over sanction letters and cheques to 24 widows and single women. Each beneficiary under the scheme will receive ₹2,016 per month.

Revanth Reddy interacted with women devotees to enquire about welfare measures, including the free bus travel facility, and met with local self-help groups to discuss livelihoods and financial empowerment.

During the programme, Panchayat Raj Minister Danasari 'Seethakka' Anasuya tied a Rakhi to the Chief Minister in advance of Raksha Bandhan on August 28, ahead of his scheduled foreign tour.

The event was attended by PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Seethakka, and Adluri Laxman, MPs Vem Narender Reddy, Kadiam Kavya, and Balaram Naik, Government Whip Ramchander Naik, and MLAs Kadiam Srihari, Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, and Nayini Rajender Reddy, alongside other public representatives and officials.
