Ram Charan Starrer Peddi Faces Ticket Price Hike And Premiere Delays In Telangana

The upcoming Telugu film Peddi, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, is facing last-minute hurdles in Telangana as the state government has delayed permissions for ticket price hikes, early premiere shows, and advance bookings ahead of its scheduled release on June 4, 2026.

The delay has created significant uncertainty for the film's makers and distributors, particularly regarding the planned premiere shows scheduled for June 3, 2026. While the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh has already issued a Government Order allowing ticket price hikes and premiere screenings starting from 8 PM on June 3, the Telangana government has yet to release its official order.

This lack of clarity has stalled the opening of advance ticket bookings across Telangana, threatening to impact the film's opening box office performance. Moviegoers and exhibitors in the region remain in limbo as they await official communication regarding the ticket rates and show timings.

The Congress-led government in Telangana has reportedly been unfavorable toward early shows, premieres, and ticket price hikes in recent years. This cautious stance follows a stampede incident that occurred during the release of the film Pushpa 2. Reports suggest that the state government has even considered skipping the permissions altogether.

Additionally, unexpected legal disruptions have created further unrest and contributed to the delay in releasing the official government order. Representatives from the Telugu film industry have emphasized the need for prominent industry figures to sit down with government officials and establish a joint policy to resolve these recurring issues.

In contrast to the situation in Telangana, the Andhra Pradesh government has already finalized its permissions. Although multiple premiere shows were initially expected, the Andhra Pradesh government has allowed only one special show starting from 8 PM onwards on June 3, alongside confirming the approved ticket price hikes.

With the June 4 release date fast approaching, the makers of Peddi continue to push for a favorable resolution in Telangana to avoid further financial damage and logistical confusion.
