Hyderabad Police Arrest Kachiguda Techie Over Abusive Instagram Comments

The Hyderabad Cyber Crime police have arrested a 30-year-old software employee from Kachiguda for allegedly operating a fake Instagram account and posting abusive, defamatory, and sexually explicit comments targeting a woman.

According to police officials, the suspect created a fraudulent Instagram profile and posted objectionable remarks on a video featuring the complainant in October 2025. The video had initially been shared by the "Pura Local" Instagram channel before circulating on social media platforms.

Investigators said the suspect used the anonymous profile to conceal his identity while publishing offensive content intended to defame the woman, harm her reputation, and outrage her modesty.

Following a probe into the digital trail, Cyber Crime officers tracked down and apprehended the software professional in Hyderabad. A mobile phone was seized from his possession and is currently being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 66(D) and 67 of the Information Technology Act, along with Sections 79 and 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
