Theater Dispute in Nizamabad and Price Hike Delay Stall Ram Charan Film Peddi

The upcoming release of the film Peddi, starring Ram Charan, faced three major last-minute hurdles on May 31, 2026, including a theater dispute over the Natraj theater in Nizamabad and an urgent resolution meeting in Hyderabad. With the film’s premieres scheduled just two days away, these unresolved issues have delayed advance ticket bookings and threatened its theatrical footprint in the Nizam region.

The first major hurdle involves a delayed Government Order (G.O.) from the Telangana Government regarding ticket price hikes. Because the official order has not yet been received, theater operators cannot open advance ticket bookings. The film's makers remain confident that they will receive the government order tomorrow, which would allow bookings to open by tomorrow evening.

The second dispute is a prestige battle between SVC and Mythri Movie Makers. Mythri Movie Makers acquired the Natraj theater in Nizamabad, a town that serves as the home turf for SVC's Dil Raju and Sirish Reddy. In response, Sirish Reddy is refusing to lease SVC’s approximately 30 key revenue-generating theaters in the Nizam region for Peddi until the theater is returned. A meeting is currently underway in Hyderabad to resolve the standoff.

Additionally, a financial disagreement has emerged between distributors and the film's producers. The makers previously agreed to pay 7.5 percent of the hiked ticket prices to exhibitors along with theater rents. However, distributors are now insisting on paying less than the committed amounts, citing uncertainty over audience footfalls.

The producers have rejected this demand, arguing that distributors should pay the agreed amount upfront. They proposed that any reductions related to the 7.5 percent share should be calculated and adjusted when the final statement is sent at the end of the film's theatrical run.
