Mythri Secures Widest Nizam Release for Peddi at RTC X Roads and Nizamabad

On May 31, 2026, the upcoming film 'Peddi' secured a major theatrical release across the Nizam region, locking in key screens including the prestigious Sudarshan-Devi complex at RTC X Roads and two major screens in Nizamabad. The breakthrough resolves days of uncertainty and theatre-related disputes, positioning the movie for distributor Mythri's widest-ever release in the Nizam territory.
The distribution rights for the film in the Nizam region were previously acquired by Mythri for Rs 63 Crore after several rounds of negotiations with leading players. However, the release plan faced significant roadblocks over theatre allocation and ticket pricing. Most SVC theatres have now been secured, resolving the screen allocation drama that had cast doubt on the film's release.
Prior to securing these theatres, the film's team faced setbacks in court. The High Court declined to intervene in a request for a ticket price hike. Citing previous rulings on ticket pricing, the court refused to issue an order, prompting the film's team to withdraw its petition. This withdrawal followed two representations to the Home Secretary that failed to yield a favorable response.
In addition to legal hurdles, local exhibitors had opposed special ticket prices. Exhibitors in the region expressed resistance to ticket hikes, even in the event of a government-issued G.O. authorizing revised pricing. This opposition was tied to ongoing demands from exhibitors for a percentage-based revenue system.
With the theatre-allocation disputes now resolved, the pending approval for ticket pricing remains the final hurdle. If the ticket price hike is not approved, the Rs 63 Crore valuation of the Nizam rights may face a 10% to 15% cut. Mythri previously bypassed a price hike for the film 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh', and a similar situation could play out for 'Peddi' depending on the pending pricing decisions.
