Telangana Releases TG TET June 2026 Exam Schedule For 1.36 Lakh Candidates

The Telangana School Education Department in Hyderabad announced on Sunday, May 31, 2026, the official examination schedule for the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test (TG TET) June 2026. The examinations are scheduled to take place from June 16 to June 22, 2026, across 10 sessions, with a total of 1,36,418 registered candidates set to appear.

The exam sessions will be split into two daily shifts. Shift I is scheduled from 9 am to 11.30 am, while Shift II will run from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.

According to the released schedule, Paper I will be conducted in both shifts on June 16. On June 17, Shift I will feature Paper I, and Shift II will host Paper II (maths and science). The Paper II (maths and science) test will continue in both shifts on June 18.

On June 19, the Paper II social studies test will be held during both shifts. Following a gap, the exams will resume on June 22, with Paper II (maths, science, and social studies) in Shift I, and Paper I for Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Urdu, Marathi, and Sanskrit mediums in Shift II.

The eligibility test is split into two parts. Paper I is designed for applicants seeking eligibility to teach Classes I to V, while Paper II is for those qualifying to teach Classes VI to VIII.

Of the total 1,36,418 applicants, 32,779 candidates registered for Paper I, 86,305 applied for Paper II, and 17,334 applied to write both papers.

The applicant pool features 28,149 government in-service teachers, which includes 13,714 men, 14,430 women, and five transgender candidates.

This schedule follows a Supreme Court mandate requiring teachers to clear the TET to secure their positions. Except for those with less than five years of service, teachers must pass the test to retain their jobs. Those with less than five years of service are required to clear the TET to qualify for promotions. The Supreme Court recently extended the qualifying period to three years, giving in-service teachers until August 31, 2028, to pass the exam.
