Ragpicker K Sundar Dies After Hit-And-Run Accident On Salar Jung Bridge In Afzalgunj

A ragpicker died on Saturday after sustaining injuries in a hit-and-run accident on the Salar Jung Bridge in the Afzalgunj area of Hyderabad.

The victim, identified as K Sundar, was crossing the road at the Salar Jung Bridge on May 23, 2026, when the accident occurred. According to the Afzalgunj police, an unknown car struck Sundar as he was crossing.

Immediately after the collision, the driver of the car fled the scene along with the vehicle. The driver did not stop to assist the victim and remains at large.

Following the collision, Sundar was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital, where he was admitted to undergo treatment for his injuries. He remained under medical care at the hospital until Saturday, when he succumbed to his injuries and died while undergoing treatment.

The Afzalgunj police have registered a case against the unidentified car driver. Law enforcement officials stated that they are making active efforts to identify the driver, locate the vehicle, and make an arrest in connection with the incident.
