Goshamahal Police Arrest 59-Year-Old for Running Online Betting Racket in Hyderabad

The Goshamahal Police busted an online cricket and racecourse betting racket in Hyderabad and arrested a 59-year-old organizer on Friday.

The suspect, identified as Venugopal Sharma, was arrested in the Begum Bazar area. According to police officials, Sharma was running the illegal betting activities using WhatsApp and other communication channels.

Investigators revealed that Sharma managed the financial side of the racket by collecting betting amounts through intermediaries.

In an attempt to conceal evidence of the illegal operations, Sharma regularly deleted his WhatsApp chats. However, local law enforcement successfully traced the activities, busted the racket, and took the organizer into custody.
