Engineering Student Killed After Tipper Lorry Hits Scooter in Tolichowki

An engineering student was killed after a tipper lorry hit the scooter he was riding on Tolichowki Road in Hyderabad on Saturday night, May 30, 2026. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Bendi Srujan Reddy, succumbed to his severe injuries while undergoing medical treatment at a hospital.
Srujan Reddy was a resident of Shadnagar, which is located in the Ranga Reddy district of Telangana. He was pursuing his engineering degree from an educational institution in Ibrahimpatnam. For his studies, he resided with his friends at a hostel situated in the BN Reddy Nagar area along the Nagarjunasagar Highway.
According to the Langer Houz police, the incident took place at around 10 p.m. Srujan Reddy and five of his friends had decided to travel from BN Reddy Nagar to a popular café located in Madhapur to have tea.
During the journey, Srujan Reddy was traveling on a scooter accompanied by one of his friends. As they were passing through the Tolichowki area, a tipper lorry collided with their two-wheeler.
The impact of the collision left both Srujan Reddy and his friend with serious physical injuries. Both of the injured individuals were shifted to a hospital for immediate medical treatment. Srujan Reddy ultimately passed away during the course of his treatment later that night.
Following the incident, the Langer Houz police registered a formal case against the driver of the tipper lorry. A police investigation has been launched and is currently ongoing to look into the circumstances surrounding the fatal road accident.
