Cyberabad Police Suspect Husband After Woman Found Murdered in IDA Bollarum

A 32-year-old woman was found murdered with her throat slit late on Saturday in the IDA Bollarum area of Hyderabad. Cyberabad police have initiated an investigation into the death of the victim, identified as Meena Devi, and are currently questioning her husband, Anil Jha, under suspicion of his involvement in the crime.

Meena Devi was a resident of Bihar Colony, located within IDA Bollarum. According to the Cyberabad police, both Devi and her husband Jha originally hailed from Bihar but had been living in the IDA Bollarum locality for the past 25 years.

The investigation began after police received a phone call on Saturday night from Jha, who reported that his wife had been killed by unidentified miscreants. Jha also claimed that the same attackers had assaulted him during the incident.

In his statement to the police during the preliminary inquiry, Jha claimed that he and his wife were returning home from a nearby vegetable market at around 9:00 PM on Saturday. He stated that their motorcycle broke down along an isolated stretch of road, at which point three or four unidentified men emerged from the nearby bushes and dragged Devi away.

Jha told officers that he initially fled the scene in fear but returned shortly after out of concern for his wife's safety. According to his account, the attackers slit Devi's throat upon seeing him return, assaulted him, and then fled the area using his motorcycle.

However, Cyberabad police revealed that they found significant inconsistencies in Jha's version of the events. Investigators noted that there was no evidence of theft or sexual abuse at the scene to support his claims.

Police are currently questioning Jha to verify his claims and are actively probing whether he murdered his wife and staged the entire sequence of events. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
