Roller coasters and water parks in Hyderabad, ranked by how hard you scream
Wonderla's reverse-looping Recoil, Ramoji's ride lineup, Snow World's actual snow, and where to take the kids.
Want your stomach in your throat? Hyderabad delivers.
Wonderla (the main event)
This is the one for serious thrill-seekers, out on the Srisailam highway about an hour from the centre. The headline ride is Recoil, India's first reverse-looping coaster, which launches you to around 80 kmph. There's also Equinox, a 360-degree pendulum that fully flips you, and a massive water park for when you need to cool off. Go on a weekday to skip the lines.
Ramoji Film City
Part working film studio, part theme park. The ride lineup includes coasters and a bunch of family rides, plus shows and gardens. It's a full day out and great if you're rolling with a mixed-age group.
Snow World
Real snow, near Indira Park, kept at properly cold temperatures. A fun, slightly surreal break from the Hyderabad heat. The jackets are included, take them.
For the family / smaller kids
- Jalavihar, a central water park right on Hussain Sagar with a wave pool and kids' zone.
- Mount Opera and Wild Waters if you want fewer crowds and a mix of dry and water rides further out.
Quick tip: most of these are an hour-ish drive, so make a day of it and start early.
