Uppal College Hosts Two-Day International Seminar on Climate Change

Little Flower Degree College (Autonomous) in Uppal commenced a two-day international seminar on climate change on Wednesday. The academic event convened environmental specialists, legal professionals, academicians, policymakers, and researchers to address escalating environmental concerns.

The seminar, titled ‘Climate Change: Literary Ecologies, Environmental Psychology, Policy Deliberation and Media Activism’, was organised by the institution's Department of Arts. It was held in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Training and Research Institute and sponsored by the Telangana Pollution Control Board.

Telangana High Court Judge B. Vijaysen Reddy formally inaugurated the proceedings as the chief guest. During the inaugural session, the attending dignitaries jointly released the official seminar proceedings volume.

College leadership in attendance included correspondent Arun Prakash, director John Kallarackal, and principal P. Jayanthi Reddy.

Addressing the delegates, featured speakers including international climate lawyer Patrick Toussaint and Osmania University professor Syeda Azeem Unnisa highlighted key strategies required to combat global warming. Experts and researchers underlined the critical necessity of interdisciplinary research, evidence-based policymaking, and expanded public participation in regional and global climate solutions.
