Two Kottabad Model School Teachers Dismissed For Sexually Harassing Students

Two contract teachers at the Model School in Kottabad village, situated in the Banswada mandal of Kamareddy district, have been permanently dismissed from service following allegations of sexually harassing female Intermediate students.

The issue came to light after the students took the step of lodging a complaint by calling the 1098 child helpline. According to official sources, the students alleged that the two contract teachers had been sexually harassing them. Unable to endure the ongoing harassment at the school, the students also submitted formal complaints directly to higher authorities in the education department.

In response to the complaints, officials from the education department launched an inquiry into the allegations. This investigation was conducted under the supervision of the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO). The inquiry team looked into the accusations and reportedly found the allegations of sexual harassment against the teachers to be true.

Based on the findings of the inquiry report, District Educational Officer (DEO) Mallikarjun issued orders permanently terminating both of the contract teachers from their services. The two accused teachers have been identified as Pawan and Gopal.

In addition to the departmental action, legal proceedings have commenced against the two men. Kamal Kishore, the principal of the Model School, lodged a formal complaint with the police department. Following the principal's complaint, the police registered a case against Pawan and Gopal, and an investigation into the allegations is currently underway.
