Traffic diversions announced near Begumpet for Balkampet Yellamma festival

The Hyderabad Traffic Police announced comprehensive traffic diversions and road closures in and around Balkampet and Begumpet for July 21 and 22 to facilitate the annual Yellamma Kalyanam and Rathotsavam festivals. Officials expect a large turnout of devotees at the Balkampet Yellamma Devasthanam and have advised commuters to avoid roads leading to the temple during this two-day period.

According to the traffic police, key routes will be redirected to manage the congestion. Vehicles traveling from the Fateh Nagar flyover towards the temple will be diverted at the New Bridge near Hyderabad Kitchen Mart, moving through the road underbridge towards Kattamaisamma Temple and Begumpet.

Traffic heading from Begumpet and Kattamaisamma Temple towards Balkampet will be redirected towards Greenland via the Begumpet Flyover, Matha Temple, Satyam Theatre, and Maithrivanam.

For commuters coming from Greenland, Matha Temple, and Satyam Theatre towards Balkampet, diversions will be enforced at the SR Nagar T Junction. These vehicles will be routed through the SR Nagar Community Hall, Abhilasha Towers, and B.K. Guda X Road before proceeding towards Sriram Nagar X Road and Sanath Nagar or Fateh Nagar Road.

Additionally, vehicles coming from Greenland and Food World towards Balkampet will be diverted at Food World X Roads towards Sonabai Temple, Satyam Theatre, Maithrivanam, and the S.R. Nagar T Junction. All bylanes and link roads connecting the S.R. Nagar T Junction and Fateh Nagar will remain completely closed during this period.

To accommodate the large number of devotees, the traffic police designated several parking spaces. These include the R&B Office, the GHMC ground, and the Padma Shree Apartments parking area on DK Road towards Nature Cure Hospital. Additional parking is available at the Fateh Nagar underbridge, Nature Cure Hospital, and the GHMC playground at Sanath Nagar.
