Thukkuguda Nurse Murder: CM Revanth Reddy Orders Magisterial Probe, Fast-Track Trial
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has ordered a magisterial inquiry and instructed officials to arrange for a fast-track court trial following the alleged rape and murder of a nurse in the Thukkuguda area of Hyderabad.
The victim, a woman belonging to a Scheduled Tribe community, was employed as a nurse at a local hospital in Thukkuguda. She was found dead on August 29 inside a residential room located on the hospital premises.
Following the discovery, police arrested a 34-year-old bike mechanic hailing from Bihar for allegedly raping and murdering the nurse.
Taking serious note of the case, Chief Minister Reddy directed officials to conduct a comprehensive probe into the circumstances leading up to the incident. According to an official release, the inquiry will examine the security arrangements at the victim's accommodation, any possible negligence on the part of hospital management, and whether mandatory safety protocols for female employees were properly implemented.
Reddy also instructed investigators to expedite the collection of forensic reports and technical evidence so that a chargesheet can be filed as early as possible to ensure swift justice.
Affirming that the government will assist the victim's family, the state administration has provided financial aid and sanctioned a house under the Indiramma housing scheme. State ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and D Anasuya Seethakka have also visited the bereaved family.
