Three Arrested in Kamareddy for Murder of Man Dumped in Hanmajipet Lake

Police in Kamareddy district have arrested a woman and two men in connection with the murder of her 26-year-old husband, whose body was discovered dumped in a lake on the outskirts of Hanmajipet village. The arrests were made on October 30 following a detailed investigation by a special police team.

The victim, identified as Chakali alias Gummadi Kasiram, was found dead in Pacheru Cheruvu lake on the night of October 23. Following a formal complaint lodged by Kasiram's father, police initially registered a case of suspicious death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). However, the case was subsequently altered to murder after findings from the preliminary post-mortem report and other gathered evidence revealed that Kasiram had been killed.

Kamareddy Superintendent of Police M Rajesh Chandra constituted a special team to lead the probe. Investigators analysed local CCTV footage, examined technical data, and gathered information from local residents to track down the suspects. The operation led to the apprehension of Kasiram's 23-year-old wife Savitha, alongside Chintakindi Ramu and Pasupula Santosh.

According to police, Savitha confessed during questioning that she had plotted the killing of her husband due to her relationship with Ramu and Santosh. Investigators stated that Savitha played a central role in planning the crime.

On the night of October 23, Ramu and Santosh allegedly took Kasiram out to consume alcohol. Once the victim became intoxicated, Ramu allegedly used a nylon rope to strangle him while Santosh restrained his hands. After Kasiram died, the two men transported and dumped his body into Pacheru Cheruvu lake and made efforts to destroy evidence before fleeing the scene.
