Three Arrested in Kalapathar for Murder of 17-Year-Old Boy

The Kalapathar police on Monday arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old boy at Biryanishah Tekri in the Kalapathar area of Hyderabad. The victim, identified as Faiz Mohammed alias Azaan, was allegedly murdered in the early hours of July 19.

According to police details, the three accused—Mohammed Abrar, Mohammed Ismail alias Farhaan, and Mohammed Ashfaq—arrived at Biryanishah Tekri around 2:30 a.m. on the night of the incident in search of another person. When Faiz questioned their presence in the locality, Abrar and Ismail allegedly attacked the teenager with knives, while Ashfaq assaulted him with his fists. Faiz sustained multiple injuries during the attack and died on the spot. The three accused fled the location immediately after the assault.

Following the incident, the Kalapathar police launched an investigation to trace the assailants. Investigating officers examined eyewitnesses, collected forensic evidence from the crime scene, and analysed technical clues. Acting on specific information, police teams tracked down and arrested all three accused near Chandrayangutta on Monday.

During police interrogation, the three accused allegedly confessed to their involvement in the crime. Based on information provided during questioning, the police recovered two blood-stained knives, blood-stained clothes, three mobile phones, and the two-wheeler that was used by the accused in the commission of the offence.

Police officials confirmed that all three arrested individuals have prior criminal records, with previous criminal cases registered against them. The accused were produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody, while further investigation into the case remains under way.
