TGSPDCL Orders Electrical Safety Drive Across Hyderabad Ahead of Festivals

Hyderabad: Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil directed officials on Wednesday to prioritize electrical safety and infrastructure upgrades across Hyderabad ahead of the upcoming Sri Krishna Janmashtami and Vinayaka Chavithi festivals.

During a comprehensive review teleconference focusing on power supply quality, safety measures, infrastructure development, and data management, the CMD instructed officials to expedite the removal of sagging power lines, replace bent and corroded electric poles, and install Aerial Bunched (AB) Cables in vulnerable locations.

Patil directed concerned Assistant Divisional Engineers (ADEs) to personally inspect pandals and Ganesh immersion procession routes. Officials were told to create awareness among organizers regarding necessary electrical safety precautions and implement preventive measures to avoid any untoward incidents.

The CMD also addressed infrastructure deadlines, directing officials to complete and prepare the Network Asset Data for transfer to RPDCL by this Saturday. Superintending Engineers (SEs) and Senior Accounts Officers (SAOs) were asked to closely monitor the process to ensure all related works finish within the stipulated timeframe.

Regarding ongoing free lefts and junction development works within the limits of GHMC, CMC, and MMC, Patil instructed staff to complete all electricity-related estimates by September 9, in preparation for a review meeting scheduled on September 10.

To improve supply reliability, each division must identify the single feeder that recorded the highest number of interruptions during August, analyze root causes, and implement permanent corrective solutions. Officials were also instructed to identify best-performing feeders, interact directly with consumers in those areas, and explain maintenance practices and utility development works.

Patil emphasized that officers must work with commitment and accountability to ensure quality, uninterrupted power supply, urging a proactive approach to identify potential issues and resolve them before they affect consumers.
