TG SAFE Suspends Shadab Hotel Licence in Madina Over Spoiled Food, Pests

The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) suspended the FSSAI licence of Shadab Hotel in Madina on Wednesday, ordering the management to shut operations immediately after discovering serious hygiene lapses, pest infestation, and spoiled food on the premises.

The action followed a coordinated enforcement drive carried out across the Core Urban Region. Nine enforcement teams, comprising food safety officers alongside police personnel, inspected a total of 19 cafes and snack points. During the operations, the teams collected 15 food samples on suspicion of adulteration.

According to officials, the inspection at Shadab Hotel uncovered multiple food safety violations. The teams detected expired and spoiled food products, an active pest infestation, and substandard sanitary conditions. Taking note of the findings, the authority ordered an immediate halt to operations in the interest of public health, along with suspending the hotel's licence.

The drive also resulted in the immediate shutdown of two other eateries found to be running without statutory clearances. Dreamz Cafeteria located in Bagh Lingampally and Asiatic Cafe in Panjagutta were ordered to cease operations after authorities discovered that both premises were functioning without valid FSSAI licences or registrations.

In addition to the closures, regulatory authorities served improvement notices to 12 food establishments across the area. The outlets issued these notices include Cafe Persia, Bahar Biryani Cafe, Cafe Deccan, Honeymoon Cafe, Rio Restaurant, Aromale Hospitality, Friends and Cafe, Dimond Point Hotel, Hotel Imroz, Blue Sea Tea and Snacks, Nimra Cafe and Bakery, and Gulzar Foods (Persis Cafe).

Show-cause notices are also being issued to five establishments: Golden Cafe, Dreams Cafeteria, Mirosa Cafe and Kitchen (Fyra Foods), Asiatic Cafe, and Shadab Hotel.

Food safety officials stated that follow-up inspections would be conducted across the premises to verify compliance with safety norms, with further action to be taken based on those findings.
