Telangana Waqf Board Hands Over 3,503 Files and Records to Andhra Pradesh Board

The Telangana Waqf Board on Monday formally handed over thousands of pending administrative records to the Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board in Hyderabad. The transfer successfully resolves an administrative issue that had remained pending since the bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh.

The handed-over documents comprise 3,503 Waqf files, 4,050 survey commissioner reports, and two gazette notifications. These records had remained under the custody of the Telangana Waqf Board after the division of the unified state.

Mohammed Asadullah, the Chief Executive Officer of the Telangana Waqf Board, handed over the official records to Khazi Yousuf Basha, the Chief Executive Officer of the Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board. The handover ceremony took place in Hyderabad in the presence of Syed Azmatullah Husseni, the Chairman of the Telangana Waqf Board.

According to officials, the transfer was executed in compliance with the government's directions and the relevant official communications issued regarding the division of records. Before the physical transfer, the records were carefully identified, segregated, and verified by the officials. They were then handed over to the authorized representatives of the Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board under proper written acknowledgment to ensure transparency.

Syed Azmatullah Husseni, the Chairman of the Telangana Waqf Board, stated that the board extended its full cooperation in completing the process. He expressed satisfaction that the long-standing issue, which had been pending since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, has now been resolved in an orderly and transparent manner. The handover ensures the proper and transparent transfer of official records to their respective state authority.
