Telangana Sets July 31 e-KYC Deadline for Ration Card Beneficiaries

The Telangana Civil Supplies Department has urged all ration card holders across Telangana, including within Greater Hyderabad limits, to complete their e-KYC verification by July 31. The department has not announced any extension to the deadline, making completion of the verification mandatory for beneficiaries who wish to continue receiving ration benefits without interruption.

The mandatory verification drive comes ahead of a key change in welfare distribution. Beginning in August, eligible beneficiaries across the state will receive three months of ration in a single consolidated distribution. The Civil Supplies Department has made e-KYC mandatory to ensure that eligible cardholders access the upcoming three-month distribution.

Telangana currently has a total of 1,05,42,188 ration cards, which cover 3,39,96,239 beneficiaries statewide. Within Greater Hyderabad limits alone, there are approximately 15.9 lakh ration cards. According to official department reports, 75 per cent of all beneficiaries in the state have completed their e-KYC verification, while the remaining 25 per cent have yet to finish the process.

In response to the remaining gap, the Civil Supplies Department has issued strict instructions to officials to achieve 100 per cent e-KYC completion by the July 31 deadline. To streamline the verification drive, local areas have been divided into sectors and sub-sectors, and special teams have been deployed to manage operations. Checking inspectors have been appointed as sector in-charges to oversee execution on the ground.

To further assist cardholders in completing the verification before the deadline, the department will organise special camps. These camps will operate with the active support of local public representatives, Resident Welfare Associations, voluntary organisations, Anganwadi workers, and ASHA workers to help reach the remaining beneficiaries.
