Telangana MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy Demands Lok Sabha Debate On NEET Exam Lapses

During the ongoing Parliament monsoon session in New Delhi, Telangana Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has formally requested Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to permit an urgent debate on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam issue. The MP has sought to raise the matter by adjourning other scheduled business before the House.

In a formal letter addressed to the Secretary-General of the Lok Sabha in New Delhi, the Congress MP from Telangana expressed deep concern over the current state of the medical entrance examination system. Reddy stated that the cancellation and subsequent retest of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 has exposed deep cracks in India's national examination system.

According to the MP, the ongoing allegations of paper leaks, corruption, and repeated lapses by the National Testing Agency (NTA) have had a devastating impact on students. He noted that these issues have pushed lakhs of medical aspirants across the country into a state of uncertainty, stress, and emotional exhaustion.

Reddy emphasized that the situation has raised urgent and serious questions about the transparency, accountability, and overall credibility of national competitive exams in India.

Citing panel reports, the Telangana leader asserted that authorities must take immediate steps to ensure that not even a single deserving student loses their rightful seat because of the activities of the examination mafia.

To address these systemic vulnerabilities, Reddy demanded that the all-India exam for admission to all medical courses in India be decentralized. He also sought the immediate resignation of the Union Minister of Education over the repeated lapses in conducting the exams.

In his letter, the MP reiterated his plea to the Speaker, asking that he be allowed to raise the critical issue before the House by adjourning all other business.
