Telangana Government to Confer State Teacher Awards on 123 Educators on September 5

The Telangana government has decided to present the State Teacher Awards to 123 teachers and faculty members on the occasion of Teachers' Day on September 5 in Hyderabad. The annual awards are presented to honour meritorious educators from school and higher education departments in recognition of their distinguished and meritorious services in the field of education.

The selection procedure commenced with the Heads of Departments operating under the administrative control of the Education Department submitting recommendations and proposals for the year 2026. These submissions were subsequently placed before State Level Committees for detailed scrutiny and evaluation.

Following the evaluation process, the State Level Committees finalized recommendations covering multiple branches of the education sector. The school education segment accounted for the highest share of the honours, with 52 teachers and faculty members recommended for the state-level recognition.

In the intermediate and technical streams, the committees cleared 11 educators from Intermediate Education and three faculty members from Technical Education. In addition, 28 faculty members were selected from universities and university-level institutions across the state.

The recommendations also included 29 personnel from affiliated colleges, encompassing specialized roles such as a physical director and a librarian alongside teaching faculty.

Confirming the final list of awardees, Secretary to Government Yogita Rana stated that the scrutinized recommendations aggregate to a total of 123 recipients who will receive the honours during the Teachers' Day celebrations.
