Telangana DGP CV Anand Calls Spain Worthy FIFA World Cup 2026 Champions

HYDERABAD — Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) CV Anand shared his detailed analysis of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final on social media, praising Spain's performance and declaring them the worthy champions after their victory over Argentina.
Speaking from Hyderabad, the top police official expressed his views on the match on the social media platform X. Anand remarked that the final match was not as thrilling as many football fans had expected it to be, pointing to Spain's overwhelming dominance on the field.
In his social media post, Anand highlighted the stark difference in offensive play between the two teams. He pointed out that Spain made 21 attempts to score a goal, while Argentina was restricted to just two attempts, both of which came only in the final minutes of the match.
"It looked as if only Spain should win as they made 21 attempts to score a goal against Argentina’s 2 , that too in the last few minutes," Anand wrote.
The DGP also drew attention to the officiating during the final, noting that Spain had two of their goals disallowed by the referee. Anand described these refereeing decisions as marginal and argued that the final score did not accurately reflect Spain's superiority.
"For me Spain beat Argentina 3-0, not 1-0," Anand stated in his post.
Furthermore, Anand analyzed the tactical approach of the Spanish team, particularly their defense against Argentina's captain. He stated that Lionel Messi was tightly marked throughout the entire game and was consequently unable to create much of an impact for his team.
Alongside his commentary, the DGP shared a video compilation showing Spain's match-winning goal from several different angles on his social media account.
