Telangana Congress Marks 1,000 Days In Power As Opposition Stages Protests

The Revanth Reddy-led Congress government in Telangana marked the completion of 1,000 days in power on Tuesday, with party leaders highlighting infrastructure milestones in Hyderabad, including the newly inaugurated Moosarambagh flyover in the Amberpet constituency.

On Wednesday, Congress leader Motha Rohit praised the state administration, stating that the party had delivered significant development since taking office. Highlighting civic connectivity, Rohit cited the Moosarambagh flyover project as an example of expedited progress under the current leadership.

Rohit noted that work on the bridge initiative had commenced during former Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy's government prior to 2014, when a temporary bridge was constructed at Golnaka to facilitate building the new Moosarambagh structure. However, he stated that the project remained stalled for a decade under the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) administration under former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and then-Municipal Minister K.T. Rama Rao.

According to Rohit, the Moosarambagh bridge was completed within two years of Congress returning to power and was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday. He added that the operational flyover will provide substantial relief and convenience to commuters and residents in Amberpet, Moosarambagh, Malakpet, and across Hyderabad.

Looking ahead to legislative proceedings, Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao urged opposition leaders to discuss the government's 1,000-day record in the House. He stated that the Telangana Assembly session is set to commence on September 7 and called on opposition members to attend and review what the administration has achieved during this tenure.

The milestone also drew sharp political opposition across the state capital. The Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) erected posters targeting the Congress administration at several prominent locations in Hyderabad, including near the TPCC headquarters, the Telangana Assembly, and the Chief Minister's residence. The posters depicted Chief Minister Revanth Reddy holding a bag of money while the public stood empty-handed.

Additionally, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi launched a separate statewide campaign to challenge the administration, characterizing the government's 1,000 days in office as a betrayal of the public.
