Sumanth Prabhas Starrer Romanchakam Arrives in Theatres

Telugu comedy film Romanchakam, starring actor Sumanth Prabhas and directed by Venu Gopal Reddy, arrived on the big screens on September 3, 2026. The theatrical release is presented by filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by Pranay Reddy Vanga.
The storyline centers on Anvesh, played by Sumanth Prabhas, a carefree young man who runs a startup. The plot kicks into gear when he falls in love with Mythili, portrayed by Ananthika Sanilkumar, a young woman from Chennai. Complications arise when Mythili travels to Hyderabad to meet Anvesh, triggering an unexpected chain of chaotic events that pulls the protagonist and his close group of friends into a difficult predicament.
The film relies heavily on situational and lighthearted comedy reminiscent of buddy films. Alongside Sumanth Prabhas and Sanilkumar, the cast features an ensemble including Venkatesh Kakumanu, Narendra Ravi, Mani Aegurla, and Sai Sohan, who portray Anvesh's group of friends. Narendra Ravi delivers witty dialogue and frustrated reactions throughout their collective sequences, while veteran actor Upendra Limaye appears in a comedic role.
The narrative structure splits its comedic momentum across two distinct halves. While the earlier portion of the movie takes time establishing the premise and characters, the second half leans further into situational and confusion-driven comedy. The climax of the film is built around a sequence of miscommunications and chaos involving the core characters.
Beyond comedy, the narrative also touches upon emotional subplots, including self-realization and the romantic relationship between the lead pair. On the technical side, Vasuki Vaibhav composed the musical score and songs, while Pavan Pappula handled cinematography. Director Venu Gopal Reddy also took charge of the film's editing duties.
