SaveLIFE Foundation Gives 15 Breath Analysers to Hyderabad Traffic Police

SaveLIFE Foundation handed over 15 modern breath analysers to the Hyderabad Traffic Police on Wednesday to boost enforcement against drunk driving along the NH-44 corridor.

The distribution is part of Project Sanjeevani, an integrated post-crash trauma response and highway rescue protocol. The project is currently being piloted along the 251-km stretch of NH-44 between Hyderabad and Adilabad by SaveLIFE Foundation in collaboration with the State Government and the National Highways Authority of India, with support from Vertis Infrastructure Trust.

The new equipment will enable traffic officers to carry out swift, evidence-based screening of motorists to deter driving under the influence on and around the highway corridor.

D. Joel Davis, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Hyderabad Traffic Police, stated that the breath analysers would enhance the department's capabilities, allowing personnel to detect and act against drunk driving more accurately and rapidly.

Piyush Tewari, Founder and CEO of SaveLIFE Foundation, noted that equipping the police force is a key step toward achieving zero fatalities on the NH-44 route.

G.V.M. Kiran Babu, Chief Operating Officer of Vertis Infrastructure Trust, added that providing the equipment to local traffic authorities represents a direct extension of the organisation's commitment to the road safety project.
