Sakshith Ram Hits 201 as HCA Two-Day League Kicks Off in Hyderabad

B. Sakshith Ram produced a stellar 201-run knock while P. Nitish Reddy scored a fluent century as the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s two-day league tournament got underway in Hyderabad. Sakshith Ram's double century highlighted the opening day of the 'B' Division Round-3 matches, while Nitish Reddy starred on the first day of the 'A' Division Championship.
In the 'B' Division, Sakshith Ram scored 201 off 200 balls, hitting 29 fours and four sixes for Rohit XI against Crown. He was complemented by Jawad Khan, who scored an undefeated 150 off 181 balls, helping Rohit XI reach 467/6 in 90 overs. N. Santosh Goud claimed 3/55 for Crown.
The 'B' Division also saw several other major batting performances. B. Rilasa Reddy struck 176 off 107 balls for Rakesh XI against Osmania University. For Future Stars, Swaran Reddy (160) and Sai Pratheek (126) scored centuries to push their total to 438 against Zinda Tilismath. Raju CC’s Smyan Bharadwaj (117) and Aaryan Rath (110) both hit tons against Khammam, while Kanchumoji Karthik scored an unbeaten 140 for Elegant against Sayi Satya, and Vamshi Krishna N. scored 115 for Agarwal Seniors.
In the 'A' Division, Deccan Wanderers posted 246/3 in 37 overs against Central Excise, driven by Nitish Reddy’s 107 off 112 balls. Harshit Choudhary contributed 44 and R. Sai Sharan scored 68. Elsewhere, Charminar scored 308 in 66.4 overs against EMCC, led by Shrey Singh's 97 and Bhavesh Seth's 88, despite Rishab Baslas taking 6/59 for EMCC.
The opening day featured major bowling achievements across both divisions. In the 'A' Division, M. Dheeraj Rao registered 6/29 for R. Dayanand in their win over Gemini Friends, while Tanay Thyagarajann took 5/14 for Sporting XI in their victory over SBI. Mickil Jaiswal (5/43) and Ashwad Rajiv (5/52) also bagged five-wicket hauls. In the 'B' Division, Deepak Nayak (5/13) and M. Varun Tej (5/20) starred in Sportive’s win over Hyderabad Wanderers, while Darsh Mohal Lal took 5/22 to help Galaxy defeat Brothers XI.
Wet ground conditions affected multiple scheduled fixtures, forcing day-one play to be called off without a ball bowled in matches including AOC vs Evergreen, SCRSA vs Deccan Chronicle, Concorde vs Deccan Blues, and Income Tax vs Khalsa.
