Revanth Reddy Directs Officials to Spare Poor Encroachers, Clear Rich Ones

Speaking in Saidabad in Hyderabad on Thursday, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed administrative officials not to disturb poor people occupying encroached land, while ordering the immediate clearance of encroachments held by the wealthy. The instructions were delivered following the inauguration of the Saidabad flyover in the Old City.

The directive came after Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi highlighted that no land was currently available for constructing Indiramma Houses in Yakutpura and Charminar, urging the state government to identify alternative sites. Acknowledging the shortage, Revanth Reddy instructed the Hyderabad Collector and other officials to locate suitable land.

"If any poor people encroach on lands, do not cause inconvenience to them. But if any rich people occupy lands, clear them and facilitate construction of Indiramma Houses," Revanth Reddy said during the gathering.

The Chief Minister also defended the patriotism of the AIMIM chief and his younger brother, Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, stating that nobody could question their commitment to the nation. He remarked that the Owaisi brothers were not inferior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah when it came to patriotism, adding that they would not step back on matters of national security.

Revanth Reddy acknowledged that while the Owaisi brothers have worked to defeat Modi, Shah, and at times the Congress party, such differences remain part of normal electoral politics. He noted that political figures frequently join hands and part ways, cautioning against treating these political shifts emotionally.

In addition to the land directives, the Chief Minister announced that Metro connectivity extending from MGBS to Chandrayangutta would be completed within two-and-a-half years. He stated that he would seek votes during the next elections only after personally travelling on the Old City Metro route.
