Raj Gopal Reddy Backs Congress High Command on Telangana Cabinet Expansion

Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy stated on Thursday that all decisions regarding the proposed cabinet expansion and allocation of ministerial berths in Telangana rest entirely with the Congress high command. Speaking at Sarvel village in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district, the legislator affirmed that he will abide by whatever decision party leader Rahul Gandhi makes.

Raj Gopal Reddy made the remarks after laying the foundation stone for road development works in Sarvel. Addressing the gathering amid widespread speculation over upcoming inductions into the state cabinet, he stressed that individual leaders do not hold a role in determining who enters the ministry.

The legislator emphasised that his primary concern remains ensuring that long-standing party cadres receive appropriate recognition. He pointed out that workers who stood firmly with the Congress during its decade-long political struggle against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) should not be forgotten as positions are filled.

“Leaders who worked for the party when it was in opposition should not be overlooked. Genuine Congress workers deserve justice,” Raj Gopal Reddy said while addressing party members and locals at the event.

Reiterating his faith in the central leadership, he said that determining roles and portfolios is the exclusive prerogative of the party's top decision-makers. “Who gets which post is for the high command to decide. I have complete faith in Rahul Gandhi and will abide by his decision,” he stated.

Raj Gopal Reddy also clarified that his comments should not be viewed as an attempt to lobby or push a personal demand for a ministerial portfolio. He reiterated that his sole intention in raising the matter was to advocate for deserving grassroots Congress workers who worked during the party's years out of power.
