Railway Board Approves 5,165 RRB NTPC Vacancies for 2026 Recruitment

The Railway Board on Thursday approved a total of 5,165 vacancies for the upcoming Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) recruitment 2026. The approved openings are spread across various Zonal Railways and Production Units, and the recruitment notice also includes vacancies for the Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM) in Secunderabad.
The board sanctioned these vacancies for the forthcoming Centralised Employment Notification (CEN). Of the total 5,165 vacancies, 3,477 positions have been designated for graduate-level posts, while the remaining 1,688 openings are assigned to undergraduate-level posts.
Within the graduate-level category, the largest allocation is for Traffic and Operating posts, which account for 2,750 vacancies. The remaining graduate positions include 371 vacancies for Senior Clerk-cum-Typist, 300 for Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist, and 56 for Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor.
For undergraduate-level applicants, the 1,688 vacancies comprise 700 posts for Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk, 600 for Junior Clerk-cum-Typist, 200 for Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist, and 188 for Trains Clerk.
Following the vacancy approval, the Railway Board instructed all Zonal Railways and Production Units to enter and submit their final vacancy details through the OIRMS portal.
The administrative units have been directed to submit these final vacancy details between September 7 and September 26, 2026, with exact deadlines within that window depending on the specific post and recruitment category.
