Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy Rebuts KTR Over Family Aerospace Venture

Telangana Minister for Revenue and Housing Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Thursday hit back at Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president K. T. Rama Rao in Hyderabad, after the opposition leader questioned the business expansion of his family into the aerospace and defence industry.

The verbal clash erupted on social media platform X following Rama Rao's swipe at the launch of Raghava Aerospace & Defence. The former minister claimed that after the aerospace venture of the Chief Minister's brother, the Revenue Minister's family had now stepped into the sector, sarcastically questioning if these firms would fulfill the two lakh employment opportunities promised by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Rama Rao further taunted the ruling party over what he described as rapid financial growth among family members of the administration within a short duration.

Srinivasa Reddy mounted a fierce counterattack against the BRS leadership, accusing Rama Rao and his family of running illegal operations and misusing power. In his social media response, the Congress minister mockingly referred to a "Kalvakuntla Academy of Corruption" headquartered at the Erravelli farm house, alleging that the former minister had presided over numerous governance irregularities during the previous regime.

The minister leveled several specific accusations, citing examination paper leaks linked to Globarena that were associated with student suicides in Telangana, as well as nationwide controversies surrounding NEET examinations. He further challenged Rama Rao on allegations regarding the unauthorized phone tapping of his own sister and brother-in-law, along with allegations of land grabbing executed through the Dharani portal.

Targeting former health minister T. Harish Rao, Srinivasa Reddy alleged conflicts of interest involving business dealings with hospitals while holding public office. He questioned how BRS party funds escalated from Rs 20 crore to Rs 1,600 crore, accusing the previous leadership of amassing wealth and expanding their farm house assets at public expense.

Defending his commercial background, Srinivasa Reddy stated that he had been in legitimate business for 30 years long before entering political life. He emphasized that his enterprises were built from a humble background to create employment and earn income honestly, asserting that the opposition leader viewed hard work with suspicion while condoning systemic corruption and illegal wealth accumulation.
