Peddapalli MP Urges Railways to Add Trains, Revive Sirpur Kagaznagar Express

Peddapalli MP Urges Railways to Add Trains, Revive Sirpur Kagaznagar Express

Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna on Friday wrote to the Ministry of Railways seeking the introduction of new train services, the extension of passenger routes, and additional halts across the Peddapalli parliamentary constituency.

In his letter, the parliamentarian highlighted the long-pending demands of residents living in Peddapalli and neighbouring districts of northern Telangana. He stated that the existing railway services remain inadequate to cater to the growing transport requirements of the region.

Vamsi Krishna pointed out that lakhs of travellers rely heavily on the local railway network. These commuters include students, office employees, businesspersons, pilgrims, and daily passengers who continue to face travel constraints due to limited connectivity.

Among the central proposals submitted, the MP specifically requested the reintroduction of the Sirpur Kagaznagar-Hyderabad Superfast Express after a gap of 13 years. The restoration of the train is intended to establish a direct morning link between northern Telangana and Hyderabad.

The MP explained that strengthening rail connections between Hyderabad and the industrial belt of Peddapalli, Ramagundam, Mancherial, and Bellampalli would enhance daily travel convenience. He added that the improved links would help unlock new opportunities across business, employment, education, and industry.

Vamsi Krishna stated that he has been continuously following up on long-standing demands for regional railway development and new halts. He noted that the proposals aim to rectify the neglect of rail connectivity that the region has experienced over the past decade.
