Over 11,000 Apply for Indiramma Houses in Hyderabad CURE Limits

Over 11,000 applications were submitted for the Telangana government’s Indiramma Houses scheme in the Core Urban Region (CURE) limits of Hyderabad as of Monday early afternoon. The initiative was launched on July 20, marking the start of the state's housing distribution effort in the metropolitan area.

Under the first phase of the program, the government announced plans to construct 7,680 flats across 16 Assembly constituencies in CURE. This initial rollout is part of a broader proposal to build one lakh houses within the Core Urban Region over the span of one year. The deadline to apply for the current phase is August 10.

According to an official brochure issued by the Telangana Housing Board, a lottery will be conducted for each constituency if the total number of applications exceeds the number of flats built in that area. To qualify for the lottery, applicants must be official residents of the specific constituency in which they are applying.

Officials noted that alongside the primary beneficiary list, a waiting list will also be drawn. In the event that a beneficiary chosen through the lottery decides to opt out of the allotment, the flat will be offered to the next eligible person on the waiting list.

Financially, the government is offering a subsidy of ₹5 lakh per flat. The remaining cost requires beneficiaries to pay ₹6 lakh, which is structured to be paid in four separate installments. Applicants must pay an application fee of ₹100 along with an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹10,000, which is refundable if the applicant is not selected.

Following the scheme's launch, the Telangana Housing Board's toll-free helpline number (040-24603572) received numerous inquiries from citizens. Callers sought clarification on eligibility criteria, the application process, EMD refund rules, and payment procedures, while others reported technical issues on the MeeSeva website. People from districts outside the Core Urban Region also called to inquire if they were eligible to apply for flats located in Hyderabad. Instructional videos and official information have been published on the board's Instagram handle to assist applicants.
