OU VC Prof M Kumar Honoured With Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Excellence Award

Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. M Kumar was honoured with the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Excellence Award by the Telangana Intellectuals Forum State Chapter in Hyderabad on Friday. The honour was conferred in recognition of his over three decades of service and contribution to the field of education.

Speaking after receiving the honour, Prof. Kumar highlighted the crucial part that educators play in nation-building, stating that teachers play an indispensable role in shaping individuals and the country.

“The contribution of teachers in shaping knowledgeable, responsible and value-driven individuals is invaluable,” Prof. Kumar said. “A teacher does much more than impart knowledge—they guide young minds, shape character and inspire them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives.” He further remarked that the influence of an educator remains a lifelong source of guidance for students.

Telangana Intellectuals Forum State Chapter president Dr. Raj Narayan Mudiraj also addressed the event, underscoring the vital responsibilities carried out by teaching professionals.

Dr. Mudiraj said that teachers not only impart education but also nurture discipline, compassion, integrity and responsible conduct, thereby contributing directly to the development of responsible citizens.
