Osmania University to Award 640 PhDs and 71 Gold Medals at 85th Convocation

Osmania University in Hyderabad will confer 640 doctoral degrees across departments under 12 faculties and present 71 gold medals during its 85th convocation scheduled to take place on September 8.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Osmania University Vice Chancellor Prof Kumar Molugaram announced that Governor and OU Chancellor Shiv Pratap Shukla will participate in the ceremony. Dr Krishna M Ella, Founder and Chairman of Bharat Biotech, has been invited to deliver the convocation address.

Prof Molugaram stated that dedicated seating arrangements are being prepared specifically for the degree recipients and gold medalists attending the academic ceremony.

University officials announced that an official YouTube live-stream link for the convocation proceedings will be shared in advance for viewers unable to attend in person.

To accommodate students, researchers, and their visiting families, designated photography and selfie zones will be established outside the main event venue. These areas will be accessible both before and after the official ceremony to allow attendees to capture the milestone.

Following the conclusion of the convocation, high-resolution official photographs will also be uploaded and made accessible on the Osmania University website, officials said.
