Officials Plan Road Widening Around KBR Park One-Way System to Ease Traffic

Civic and police authorities in Hyderabad have decided to take up selective road-widening works around the one-way traffic system near KBR Park in Jubilee Hills to eliminate recurring traffic bottlenecks and ensure smoother vehicular flow.

The decision was taken after Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner RV Karnan conducted a joint field inspection of the one-way corridor on Wednesday. Senior officials from several relevant government departments accompanied the commissioners during the review to assess ground realities and identify locations where traffic movement repeatedly slows down.

During the on-site inspection, the team of officials evaluated prevailing traffic conditions and took into account feedback received from daily motorists navigating the corridor. The inspection covered several key intersections along the one-way loop, with officials examining bottlenecks at Film Nagar, Journalist Colony, Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills Checkpost, and the KBR Park Main Gate.

Following the assessment, senior officials discussed comprehensive measures required to maintain an uninterrupted flow of vehicles around the park. The team determined that targeted road widening at specific bottleneck points would provide immediate relief from congestion.

Particular focus was placed on the crucial stretch between Film Nagar Junction and Road No. 45 Junction. To enable smooth widening along this route, officials directed the departments concerned to immediately take up the shifting of utility infrastructure. This includes relocating electric poles, water supply pipelines, drainage networks, and other installations currently obstructing road expansion.

GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan instructed civic officials to expedite the road-widening process and complete all pending road repair works at high-density locations across the route. He also emphasized the need to address drainage-related issues on a priority basis to support improved traffic management at the critical junctions.
