Minister D Sridhar Babu Launches Indiramma Houses at Hyderabad Secretariat

On Monday, Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu inaugurated the Indiramma Houses, specifically Low Income Group (LIG) Housing Towers, in the CURE Region of the Secretariat in Hyderabad. The launch is part of the Telangana state government's initiative to provide affordable housing for poor and middle-class families, aiming to make Telangana a state free from huts.

During the event, Sridhar Babu stated that the government is working with sincerity and determination to achieve its housing goals. He noted that while the previous Congress government had constructed LIG Housing Towers in several parts of the city, the current administration is launching the Indiramma Housing project in the CURE region with the same spirit.

The minister explained that urban regions face severe land constraints for housing development compared to rural areas. To address this challenge and help poor and middle-class families own homes, the government decided to construct these LIG Housing Towers on land valued at hundreds of crores of rupees.

Sridhar Babu assured that the government will maintain complete transparency in selecting beneficiaries and allocating houses to ensure only eligible families receive them. He added that eligible outsourcing employees, contract workers, and sanitation workers will also be provided with houses under this scheme in accordance with prescribed guidelines.

Alongside the housing launch, the minister highlighted the 'Telangana Rising – 2047 Vision'. Under this vision, the state government has set a target to expand Telangana’s economy to USD 1 trillion by 2034 and USD 3 trillion by 2047.

To ensure balanced and inclusive development across the state, the government has divided Telangana into three development regions: CURE, PURE, and RARE.

Sridhar Babu emphasized that Hyderabad is the focal point of the CURE Vision. He stated that the objective is to develop Hyderabad into a global city while ensuring that the benefits of this growth reach the poor and middle-class residents. He concluded by reaffirming the government's commitment to fulfilling its pre-election promises, including the implementation of the six guarantees.
