KTR Releases Charge Sheet Against Telangana Government, Demands Revanth Reddy Resign

BRS working president KT Rama Rao has released a "charge sheet" against the Congress administration in Telangana to mark what he described as 1,000 days of its rule, terming the tenure "1,000 days of public oppression" rather than public governance and demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Speaking to NDTV, Rama Rao sharply condemned the Chief Minister's recent political remarks, particularly an analogy Reddy used to question former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's absence from active politics. Reddy had referenced a Telugu saying comparing "Nandi" (the sacred bull of Lord Shiva) with "Pandi" (pig), asking how the two could be compared.

Rama Rao criticized the remarks, stating that the Chief Minister's language reflected a lack of culture and basic parliamentary decorum. He accused Reddy of reducing political discourse to gutter-level insults instead of focusing on governance.

Escalating his attack over ongoing political controversies, including those involving Minister Konda Surekha, the BRS leader alleged high-level corruption within the state government. He claimed that the Chief Minister's family is directly benefiting from illegal land transactions and commission networks.

Comparing the situation to controversies in a neighbouring state, Rama Rao claimed that the land and administrative scams taking place under Reddy are exponentially larger than Karnataka's MUDA scam. He argued that Reddy has lost the moral authority to stay in power and called for his resignation.

Rama Rao also questioned the administration's claims of securing global investments, referring to reports of a denied United States trip for the Chief Minister. He accused the state government of surrendering Telangana's self-respect to central leaders in Delhi for political survival, noting that basic international clearances were being denied.

Alleging extensive failure across major sectors under the Congress administration, Rama Rao announced that he will launch a comprehensive statewide padyatra next year. He said the march will aim to engage with citizens, highlight the unfulfilled commitments of the ruling party, and pave the way for the BRS to return to power under Chandrashekar Rao.
