Krishna Janmashtami Celebrated at Banjara Hills Hare Krishna Golden Temple

Devotees gathered in large numbers at the Hare Krishna Golden Temple in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, to celebrate the Sri Krishna Janmashtami festival on Friday. Lord Sri Krishna gave darshan to visiting devotees in multiple forms, including Sri Radha Govinda, Sri Godha Krishna, Sri Laddu Gopal, and Sri Makhan Krishna.

The day's religious observances commenced with the Shodashopachara Seva, after which an enchanting Shringara Arati marked the formal beginning of darshan, followed by Jhulan rituals. Priests also performed the Sri Sudharshana Narasimha homa as part of the ceremonial events.

The temple schedule featured seven elaborate abhishekams conducted throughout the course of the day, alongside a special ritual titled the Krishna Anugraha Sandhya Abhisheka. The Sandhya Abhishekam concluded with a spiritual discourse delivered by Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, President of the Hare Krishna Movement Hyderabad, who addressed devotees on the significance of Lord Krishna's appearance.

Alongside the religious rituals, several thematic cultural exhibits were set up across the temple premises. The displays highlighted key initiatives run by the Hare Krishna Movement, including the Hare Krishna challenge, Krishna kids, Japa Club, and Aikya Vidya.

The rituals continued late into the evening, with the Krishna Avirbhava Abhishekam extending until midnight. Celebrations culminated with the offering of a midnight Maha Mangala Arati, signifying the auspicious appearance of Lord Sri Krishna in the material world.

Parallel celebrations were also organised in the city, with grand Sri Krishna Janmashtami festivities held simultaneously at the newly envisioned Hare Krishna Heritage Tower located in Narsingi, Kokapet.
