Kavitha Leads Student Protest in Hanamkonda Demanding Fee Reimbursement Dues

Telangana Rakshana Sena founder-president Kalvakuntla Kavitha led a protest rally from the Ambedkar Centre to the collectorate in Hanamkonda on Monday, demanding the immediate release of pending fee reimbursement and scholarship dues for students.

The demonstration was organised alongside students under the leadership of TRS leader Nadipelli Venkateshwar Rao. Before beginning the march, the protesters assembled at the Ambedkar statue at Ambedkar Centre to pay floral tributes to Dr B.R. Ambedkar.

The participants then marched towards the collectorate while raising slogans demanding that the state government address the grievances faced by students. Upon arriving at the collectorate, the protesters staged a brief sit-in demonstration.

Following the sit-in, Kavitha sought permission to enter the collectorate and submit a formal memorandum. After police granted permission, Kavitha and a delegation of students met the district collector to present the memorandum and explain their issues.

Speaking at the demonstration, Kavitha alleged that the government was inflicting severe hardship on students by failing to release fee reimbursement funds. She stated that lakhs of students who have completed degree and professional courses are unable to obtain their certificates due to the unpaid dues, leading to the loss of employment opportunities. Urging the government not to jeopardise students' futures, she called for immediate action.

Kavitha also criticised the Chief Minister over statements concerning alterations to the intermediate education system and the proposed merger of polytechnic colleges with a skill university. Demanding justice for polytechnic students, she said the agitation against the Congress government would continue until all pending fee reimbursement dues are fully cleared.
