ICFAI Law School Hyderabad Opens 11th NJ Yasaswy Memorial Moot Court Competition

ICFAI Law School in Hyderabad organised the inaugural session of the 11th NJ Yasaswy Memorial Moot Court Competition on Friday, September 4. The three-day national event brings together law students from across the country to compete for a prize pool of Rs 2 lakh.

Around 80 teams representing law schools from across India are participating in the three-day competition. The rounds will be evaluated and adjudicated by a panel of 92 judges drawn from academia, legal practitioners, and leading law firms.

Delivering the inaugural address, Supreme Court Bar Association president Dr Pradeep Rai emphasized that the study of law demands rigorous dedication. He stated that the legal profession requires extensive reading, deep concentration, commitment, and perseverance from students and practitioners alike.

Recalling his own early days as an advocate, Dr Rai encouraged the participating students with words of motivation. He told the gathering that there are no absolute winners or losers in such exercises, noting that everyone who puts in sincere effort emerges as a winner.

ICFAI Law School director general Prof Vijender Kumar also addressed the participants during the inaugural event. He urged the students to read original judgments, cultivate critical thinking, and approach legal disputes directly from an advocate's perspective.

Prof Kumar additionally shared practical guidance with the competitors to help refine their advocacy skills and deliver stronger courtroom performances throughout the tournament.
