Hyderabad Police Bust Interstate Egg Donor Racket Run Through Hostels

Malkajgiri police on Saturday busted an illegal commercial egg donation racket in Hyderabad, in which women recruited from seven states were handpicked and matched with prospective recipients based on specific requirements such as caste, religion, complexion, height, education, and geographical background. Begumpet Inspector P Saidulu confirmed that the network exploited women in need of money by offering them up to Rs 50,000.

Investigators identified the prime accused as Amit Sharma, who allegedly operated the illegal enterprise alongside associate agents. To house donors and carry out their activities without raising suspicion, the accused operated under the cover of running women's hostels.

The syndicate recruited vulnerable donors from across seven states: West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Odisha. Police said the ring deliberately sought out women who were in financial distress.

According to Malkajgiri police officials, the accused coordinated through an interstate network of agents who shared profiles and data through WhatsApp groups and other communication channels. Whenever couples looking for egg donors approached the syndicate with specific requirements, the agents circulated the criteria across their nationwide network to find a match.

Begumpet Inspector P Saidulu explained the operation's reach and tactics: "The accused exploit women who are in need of money. They have WhatsApp groups and other means for exchanging information with a network of people across India. Whenever they receive enquiries from people looking for egg donors, the requirements are shared with illegal agents in the network."
