Health Minister Praises Bhadrachalam Doctors for Saving 52 Chloroquine Victims

Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha has commended the doctors and healthcare staff at Bhadrachalam Area Hospital for their prompt medical intervention, which successfully saved the lives of 52 people who fell ill after consuming chloroquine tablets.

The patients, comprising 47 children and five adults, suffered adverse health reactions following the intake of the medication. They were shifted on Tuesday night to the Bhadrachalam Area Hospital from the Gollaguppa area, located in the Polavaram district of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

Upon their arrival at the hospital, the medical team acted swiftly to stabilise their conditions and administered emergency treatment to all 52 individuals.

Expressing his appreciation for the medical team, Rajanarsimha stated that the prompt and dedicated response by the hospital staff ensured that quality care was delivered in time to avert tragedy.

The minister added that emergency and high-quality medical services are actively being provided across government healthcare facilities, including hospitals situated in remote forest areas.
