GHMC Orders Closure of Meat Shops and Slaughterhouses on September 4

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has ordered the closure of all slaughterhouses and meat shops across Hyderabad on September 4 in observance of Sri Krishna Janmashtami.
According to the civic body, the order mandates the complete shutdown of sheep and goat shops, slaughterhouses, and establishments engaged in the retail sale of meat and beef throughout the city for the duration of the festival.
To ensure that the directive is implemented effectively on the ground, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan reached out to Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar.
Commissioner Karnan urged the Hyderabad police commissioner to extend necessary support and assistance to municipal staff in enforcing the restrictions.
Municipal authorities and local police are expected to coordinate across the city to monitor compliance and ensure that retail meat outlets, beef shops, and slaughter facilities remain closed on September 4 as directed by the municipal corporation.
