Ganesh Idol From Dhoolpet Damaged After Speeding Lorry Rams Truck Near Pragnapur

A massive Ganesha idol being transported from Dhoolpet in Hyderabad to Siddipet for Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations was damaged after a speeding lorry rammed into its transport vehicle on Thursday morning.

The accident took place on the Pragnapur Ring Road near the Pragnapur flyover in Siddipet district during the early hours of the day.

According to reports, the driver of the container lorry transporting the idol had pulled over and stopped on the roadside. The driver halted the vehicle after noticing that the towering idol risked hitting an overhead signboard near the flyover.

While the lorry was parked along the road, another lorry approaching from behind at high speed rammed into its rear. The severe impact caused the idol to topple over inside the vehicle and sustain significant damage.

The force of the collision also pushed the container lorry into a car situated ahead of it, damaging that vehicle as well. The lorry driver sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Local police reached the spot following the crash, registered a case regarding the accident, and have launched an investigation into the collision.
