Four Arrested as Fake Birth and Death Certificate Scam Busted in Bayyaram

Police have busted a fake birth and death certificate racket operating out of Bayyaram in Mahabubabad district, arresting four persons connected to the illegal operation.

According to investigators, the scheme was initiated by a private outsourcing employee working at the Bayyaram Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) office. The employee stole secret digital keys belonging to Gram Panchayat secretaries.

After intercepting the digital keys, the accused established an unauthorized business operation, utilizing Meeseva net centers as a backstop to process the fraudulent documents.

Through this illegal mechanism, the gang issued a total of 270 birth certificates and 19 death certificates without any official qualification or legitimate documentation.

A subsequent police probe revealed that suspects utilized some of the fraudulent death certificates to unlawfully claim and collect insurance money. Authorities reported that around Rs 30 lakh to Rs 40 lakh changed hands across the entire operation.

While four members of the gang have been taken into custody, police stated that investigations are ongoing to uncover other individuals involved and identify the masterminds behind the scheme. Police warned that anyone who messes with the law will face severe punishment.
